Bird City Kerrville is a community focused certification program that has been created to help people protect birds and their habitats where we live, work, and recreate. Science-based bird conservation initiatives and community-centric action are the heart of this statewide project.
Hill Country Master Gardeners’ involvement in this project includes partnering with kerrbirdcity.org to promote education of the public through horticultural programs; advertisement through social media, website, public events, radio, and newspaper articles; promotion and sale of native plants; engaging in programs appropriate for children and families at schools, 4-H and Junior Master Gardener events.
Hill Country Master Gardeners is a service organization helping the AgriLife Extension Service meet the horticultural needs of the community.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Hill Country Master Gardener Association is to support the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service by providing research-based information and education to the community on the best practices of horticulture and environmental stewardship.
